Toyko didn't sleep

(Lyrics are below)
Listen On Spotify

Booked a flight with a budget fare
Backpack, charger, some extra underwear
Told my mum I’d see the world
She said, “You’re still my little girl”

Paris said, “Walk slow and try the bread.”
Rome said, “History’s already dead.”
Berlin blinked in neon light,
Tokyo didn’t sleep all night.

New York shouted, “Move it, kid!”
London muttered, “We already did.”
Sydney winked from down below,
Reykjavík said, “Cold? You don’t know.”

Barcelona danced till four,
Amsterdam biked past my door.
Dubai sparkled, gold and glass,
Venice said, “Please don’t move too fast.”

I’ve been all places on this spinning globe
Lost my Phone in Monaco
Different skylines, different shoes
Every city has their own unique view

Taxi rides and hostel maps
Midnight trains and power naps
Round and round the World I go
Mum texts again "Come back soon, you know?"

Rio sang in neon heat,
Dublin spilled things on my feet.
Toronto apologized twice
For weather that felt like bad advice.

Cairo whispered ancient names,
Vegas promised quick money games.
Bangkok buzzed like wired caffeine,
Zurich ran on time and green.

Mumbai moved at double speed,
Oslo barely seemed to breathe.
LA said, “Let’s take a drive,”
Traffic said, “You won’t arrive.”

I’ve been everywhere on this spinning globe
Passport thick, but I still feel broke
Different languages in my head
Every city tucks me into bed

Planes take off and wheels come down
I chase the lights of every town
Round and all the World I see and hear
Mum texts again: "I miss you dear"

Prague looked straight from a fairy tale,
Seoul ran fast on Wi-Fi rails.
Havana laughed with a crooked grin,
Istanbul said, “You’re halfway in.”

Cape Town balanced sea and stone,
Moscow stared like carved in bone.
Mexico City buzzed so loud,
Singapore impressed the crowd.

Helsinki blinked in silver light,
Athens argued through the night.
Jakarta hummed in traffic haze,
Honolulu slowed my days.

Edinburgh poured another round,
Shanghai rose without a sound.
Lisbon leaned toward the sea,
Buenos Aires tangoed me.

Back at home with tired feet,
Saw the World and now I'm beat
a Year of travel, so much fun
But now I'm back with my dear old Mum

I’ve been everywhere on this spinning globe
Passport thick, but I still feel broke
Different languages in my head
Every city tucks me into bed

Told my mum all about the world
She just said, “You’re still my little girl”
