Didn't Pass the Test

I go a bit introspective here. Quite hard to describe your life's path in 4 minutes (and make it Rhyme and put to music!!) 😀, but here we go.... 

 I didn’t pass the test,
so I did it my own way
Left the assignments there
then I walked away

I'd see the classroom clock
my mind was somewhere else
Never like those textbooks
so I had to teach it all myself

They said I’d fall behind
Or That I’d never make the grade
That I’d never find a good job
Or find a place that I'd get paid

Yet I loved to read all books
I'm addicted to the World news
So you can't tell me what to think
And try to twist my views

I didn’t pass the test
It was such a god damn bore
Didn’t know the answers
didn't know what the test was for

I didn’t pass the test
so I did it my own way
if I had to do it all again
I'd do again today

I didn't get a real degree
I just learned it on my own
But don't feel too bad for me
I just took a different road

I spent my nights just writing letters
and creating music all alone
Drawing pictures in my mind
Turning ideas into my own

I didn’t pass the test
and it hit me to my core
Didn’t know the answers
didn't know what the test was for

I didn't pass that test
so I did it my own way
but if I had to do it again?
I'd do it again today!

I couldn't do it
it was not my path
I felt My life
Wouldnt depend on Math

I have no diploma?
I felt the frowns
I had to prove myself
and Keep my head down

Not the path I had imagined
not the one that I had planned
Still I found my footing
And I think Now I understand

You can think maybe I failed
you can say I might have slipped
But I learned much more from failure
than some stupid old class trip
