Note: this first here is my demo/pre production version and is instrumental only, it builds up over it's 2 minute time.
So that demo a few months back formed the base idea for the production version. I had several ideas for the song and title, but originally was going to be titled "Second to None" but I quickly discarded that idea as was way over used, and was also too self important sounding. I debated a bit, I wanted some funny take on that kind of title. This is one of my shorter songs, no question.

I'm ready to go, just second to fun
Laptop closed, I’m out the door
Phone stays silent, don’t care anymore
Sun still up, that’s my cue
You stay late, I’m cutting through
Keys in hand, music loud
No fixed plans, no thinking now
Night rolls in, day’s not done
You clock back, I chase the sun
No more calls, no more screens
No more stuck in the inbetweens
I'm just second to fun
My work here’s done
Clock says it’s five
Today I won’t be the one
Today I’m out, sorry gotta run

Feet in sand, drink in hand
This right here wasn’t the plan
